Renovation | Whole House Interior
Character, Craft & Considered Detail
Settlers Lane, Inverloch
Modern Homestead began as a vision to move well beyond a standard renovation. The clients wanted a home that felt deeply personal - layered, expressive and full of character - without falling into the trap of chasing trends or creating something that looked more like a showroom than a place to actually live.
The brief called for a full interior transformation, starting with a reconfigured floor plan to improve the natural flow of the home, and building outward from there. Every space needed to work hard functionally while also telling a story - through the materials chosen, the textures layered together, and the details that reveal themselves slowly the longer you spend time in the room.
Natural stone and granite were treated as hero features rather than background surfaces. Handcrafted American walnut cabinetry, earthy limestone tiles, raw organic finishes and warm timber linings were brought together to create richness and depth throughout. The result is a home that feels collected and considered - as though it has been lived in and loved over time, not assembled all at once.
