Character, Craft & Considered Detail
The B Family, Inverloch
When this family of five first walked through the doors of this tired, deceased estate, they saw something most people wouldn't - potential. For this busy family of professionals with three young children, the vision was clear from the start: a complete interior transformation that would turn a disconnected, outdated floor plan into a warm, considered family home they could grow into for years to come.
The brief centred on premium finishes, fixtures and fittings - but never for the sake of it. The aesthetic direction was modern farmhouse without being overdone. Warm, moody and grounded. Raw and organic, but refined. Handcrafted American walnut cabinetry became the hero material throughout, paired with bronze bathroom fixtures, gunmetal kitchen hardware and an earthy palette of natural stone, limestone tiles and timber linings that echo the rolling farmland and ocean views surrounding the property.
With a young family eager to move in, the design phase ran in tandem with carpentry commencing - a tight but well-managed process that required clear decision-making and close collaboration from day one. Rather than extending the footprint, the goal was to work entirely within the existing structure and maximise every square metre. The introduction of a curved hallway and curved ensuite wall was the quiet masterstroke of the project - an elegant solution to an awkward floor plan that had previously segmented the home and restricted natural flow. Full services were provided end to end, from spatial planning and joinery design through to appliance specification and sourcing.
The result is a home that feels lived in from the moment you walk through the door - warm enough to match its surroundings, considered enough to last.
